About Me

My name is Clara Runcie and I am the owner and founder of runcieyoga.  I live with Orla (my dog) who is a big part of runcieyoga.  My personal philosophy is about balance, yin and yang, masculine and feminine energies.  I believe that we need a balance of both energies whether it be in foods, exercise, meditations, ourselves and so forth.  I hope that we at runcieyoga achieve that.  This is very much a family run business with all members of my family participating, whether it be in classes, or giving advice.

My Story

My yoga journey started over 20 years ago.  Yoga found me when I was at a low point in my life.   I was struggling with a lot of mental and emotional things.  I was introduced to Yoga by my Grandad and Girl Papa.  So, I read books on it and taught myself how to move within the asanas, before I started going to classes and learning more about it.  I found that through daily disciplined practice my mental well being benefited.  I wanted to know more, so in 2006 I started on my journey into teaching Yoga.  I didn't complete the training, because I wasn't open to being taught at the time.  Fast forward to 2021 I contacted my former teacher Julie Hanson and asked if I could pick up on my teacher training.  I was introduced to Seasonal Yoga.  This is where we flow with the season, meditation, breathwork, Yoga Nidra, look at foods for that seasons, look not only at the Chakras but Meridian Lines (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Qui Gong and realigning the body clock and internal organs.  Learning from Julie Hanson, Sue Woodd and Marit Akintewe was so spiritually moving that I have not only gained my 200 hour certificate but I am now on the Advanced Teacher Training Programme.  Seasonal flow is about balance, not only in your practise but in your daily life.  I love this philosophy and try to live energetically to the season.

So not only have I trained with these amazing women, but recently I have gained my 200 hr in Vinyasa Yoga under the mentorship of Carson Calhoun from Yoga with Carson training in predominantly Rocket Yoga, which is a combination of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Series 1, 2 and 3.  It has been amazing to practise and learn from him.  I love Rocket and the dynamic flow that it brings, particularly when I am delivering the practise to House music.  The vibrational energy is just lifted that much higher.  It is a strong practise and this really suits my needs physically and mentally.  For me the balance between a strong dynamic practise like Rocket or Seasonal Flow and then flowing into a  seasonal Yin practise is just heaven.  If you check out my Instagram page you will see that Orla is a massive part of runcieyoga and not just her but my family as well.  If you would like to know more about me, then the easiest way to do that is come flow with me.
